Observed the object (probably 99001) again last night, but my stopwatch went mad again -- apparently a sticking push-button -- and wiped out all of my times. Using wristwatch, sometime during 3:52-54 it passed very near tau(2) Aquarius, roughly 22:50, -14 (2000). Quite a while earlier it passed near iota Capricornus (and Uranus), north of gamma and delta CAP and south of iota AQR (i.e., near several easily identifiable stars and a planet). It was harder to see as the previous night even though last night was even better; I think this is due to it being lower in the sky and being more affected by extinction. The last two mornings I've attempted, unsuccessfully, to observe Telstar 401 again and so am puzzled since it was so bright just last week. The conditions have been very good except for looking from my light-polluted home location.
