This morning I saw two direct tv geo sats in my 70 mm refractor. One of them was DIRECTV 4S the other was either DBS 2 or DBS 3 They were near the limit of my scope. I had to add add some data into the skymap satmag.dat file, in order to get a satellite to show up using the all satellite search option For example NSS 7 1 27414U 02019A 02128.39914873 -.00000173 00000-0 00000+0 0 203 2 27414 0.0149 327.5463 0001621 56.9799 322.2067 1.00272670 297 If I set the mag value to say 45.0 , it doesn't show up when using the all satellite search. If I set it to say 42.0, then it shows up. So now to enter some fake mag data for the geo sat's to be sure they will show up.
