1st observations for about a month due to horrible weather!
Saw 2 flares from 24680 USA 129 on 21/7 - 1st around 21:27UT, bright
(-4) 3 second flare in SW, sat was then vsisble with naked eye (in
twilight) until 21:29UT at maximum elevation (63 deg) in Bootes, a
brief flash (mag -0) then faded completely.
Looked for but didn't see 25861 Okean-O r (to my suprise, even though
it was twilight).
Saw a beautiful flare from Iridium 70 on 21/7 23:34UT high up (around
60 deg) - very bright (I'm sure it cast shadows!) - around -8.
As I was out I looked in Ursa Major and located Comet Linear, easily
visible in binoculars. Sadly the weather has worsened considerably
since 21/7 and the comet will be out of view this time next week for
me. I hope to catch it again before then - I recommend you look at it
if you get the chance.
Clear Skies
