Since 3/16/02 (!). It has been busy, with limited time at my home PC ...

On 3/31/02 we had the chance to look from a dark site at the Valley of
Fire, NE of Las Vegas NV. Well worth a visit. Good passes by ISS, 27397
    Shenzhou III, and by 27398 CZ-2F r.
The latter was one of the most impressive passes that I've seen: close
to decay, fast bright, and tumbling.

    4/4/02 a mag 1 evening pass by 17590 Cosmos 1833 r.
4/17/02 a nice evening pass as Atlantis led the ISS by about 10 deg. At
the start of the pass, low phase angle, ISS was especially bright.
    4/18/02 a mag 2 evening pass by 07338 Cosmos 660 r.
    4/21/02 a mag 2 evening pass by 25861 Okean-O r. This used to flash
wonderfully, but I imagine that the flash period is now much longer than
the time of a typical pass. On this occasion I saw it when it was
    well-oriented and bright.

Look forward to seeing GRACE 1 & GRACE 2!

    Best, Mark
