I just got done watching NASA Select with Atlantis in orbit and preparing for OMS-2. One interesting thing about this launch I hadn't seen before is that they apparently are using an OMS burn about 4 or 5 minutes into the launch (while the main engines are still firing). Anyone have any details about the why's and wherefors of this extra engine firing? Jim.
