Despite a bright sky, we saw the Shenzhou III module (27408 = 02-014C) as it passed through Canis Major. Using binoculars, at about 2002 April 01/23:59.8 UTC, we estimate its apparent magnitude as about 4-4.4, corresponding to a standard magnitude of about +5 (or a quicksat intrinsic magnitude of about 3.5-4). Clear and dark skies!
