    Dear All,
In previous posts, Ted has provided his analysis of the fuel dump from the rocket that launched Yaogan 17 on the 01st September 2013 - see
On the 02nd September 2013 at 00:38:50 UTC one of the automated cameras of the NEMETODE meteor detection network, located in Ravensmoor, Cheshire, UK,
recorded an unusual grouping of very bright satellites. The camera is a Watec 902H with a Computar 8mm f0.8 lens. A video is available here:
An initial review suggested that they were from the Yaogan 17 launch. Cees Bassa very kindly conducted a further investigation and confirmed the
initial findings. Details of Cees' analysis are included on the same page.
The exceptional brightness is, as yet, unexplained though Cees does suggest that it may be down to reflections from a gas cloud associated with some
sort of venting / manoeuvring as the A, B and C components separated from the dispenser.
Please feel free to have a look - I'd welcome any further analysis / insight.
    Thanks & regards
