At 8:54 PDT (UT -7) while eating dinner on my front porch and being amazed at the transparency, brightness of the Milky Way, at 78 deg F, a shotgun blast went off about 15 degrees to the right of Arcturus.. Mag -4 easily.. but I lost it.. Then Wifey found it close to the Southern horizon, flashing regularly, and said it was a plane. I saw it flashing and getting dimmer, so I jumped up and grabbed the 15 x 70 Binocs. Just before it disappeared behind my 17 degree high ridgeline due South of me, and counting in my head, I was getting a double peaked flash (dim at this point) about 4 seconds apart.. Was this IR33??? I miss those predictions!
