I watched this morning's extremely favorable pass of TIPS beginning 5 minutes early and continuing until 8 minutes past the predicted time from the last elset. Nothing was seen with my 25x150 binoculars with 2.7 deg field of view. I do not see how I could have missed it since TIPS has always been an easy object to see. It leads to three immediate possibilities: the tether has gotten so faint it is not easily detectable, the elset is flawed, or the tether had broken earlier. The moon was 3rd quarter and provided only minor interference. Elevation 60, azimuth 341 range 775 miles, phase 75 deg. Paul Maley Paul D.
