    my two cents:

in kingston, during what part of the spring or early summer do the
mosquitoes emerge? I am originally a minnesotan and evenings are pleasant
there until about mid-may to early june. then the "state bird" begins to
make appearances, and you cannot leave the screened interiors after sunset
without repellant or you risk being eaten alive. (even with repellent, to go
    outdoors is a risky venture.)

minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes (although they really number
    more than 13,000)

ontario surely has many times that number of lakes (although I am not sure
    about eastern ontario.)

I think when deciding on dates for an event which will be outdoors we should
take into consideration these not-so-small-nor-insignificant insects which
for those of us accustomed to their wrath may seem bothersome but for others
(western europeans for example) would represent a weekend of pure hell.

    clear skies!
