Hi All, I saw LES 8 last night after nearly missing it on the 7th (local; UTC-7) when Ed timed four flashes. BTW, my timings for the four flashes Ed timed were: 128.13, 124.19, 124.12 and 124.43. That would give the same flash period that Ed posted in his PPAS obs. However, I have noticed that those last few flashes seem to have a shorter period than the preceding (see flash timings). 76-023 A 05-09-07 05:24 SDL 0.5 36 128.9 dT=4639.6 76-023 A 05-09-08 05:18 SDL 0.5 26 127.5 dT=3314.4 Timings: 127.99, 127.81, 127.66, 127.84, 127.83, 128.12, 127.75, 128.18, 127.95, 127.22, 127.50, 127.86, 128.14, 127.96, 127.87, 128.22, 128.00, 127.64, 127.77, 127.99, 128.05, 128.18, 128.13, 124.19, 124.12, 124.43 Last night I started looking considerably earlier, and saw flashes around 3:40 UTC. I did not time all of the flashes, and only a few might have made it to 1X this time. 76-023 A 05-09-09 04:31 SDL 0.5 24 127.2 dT=3052.8 Timings: 127.28, 127.22, 127.28, 127.22, 127.21, 127.39, 127.23, 127.41, 127.35, 126.82, 127.37, 126.76, 126.93, 126.69, 127.15, 127.40, 127.35, 127.43, 127.34, 127.23, 127.22, 127.26, 127.12, 127.17 Finally, one PPAS on UNID 90007: 00-653 A 05-08-30 07:40 SDL 971.8 0.3 11 88.35 Ff (F 42.8 f 45.6) Timings: 42.69, 45.55, 42.68, 45.67, 42.76, 45.67, 42.72, 45.50, 42.75, 45.50, 42.89, 45.50, 42.93, 45.38, 42.83, 45.57, 42.69, 45.60, 42.93, 45.58, 42.61, 45.76 What these numbers mean: http://www.satobs.org/tumble/flashpm.html#PPASformat Steve LaLumondiere -- 33.820, -118.316 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
