Hi All, Got another timing on Cosmos 2282 last night, though as others have noted the brightness of the flashes has dropped off quite a bit. I didn't see any brighter than +5; most were +6.5 or dimmer, and some weren't visible at all (limiting magnitude ~+8 for flashes): Cosmos 2282 (#23168) 94- 38A 02-09-11 04:32:57.8 RM 1371.56 0.05 66 20.7812 +5/+7 --> inv (Separate report sent to PPAS). Satellite spin-up continues, with period decreasing at about 0.0113 seconds per day. If the trend continues, the period will be down to 20.0 seconds by mid-November. Saw two LEOs while timing C2282 -- one at 10 Sep 21:06:10 PDT northbound, the other at 21:10:20 southbound. First turns out to have been Cosmos 1226 R/B (#12092) at mag +6.3 (1.2 mags dimmer than predicted); the other was Meteor 2-11 (#15099) at mag +5.
