Here in England, I have been 'caught' by Police in a carpark late at night. We were just about to leave after watching ISS go over. They were quite suspicious of our explanation, and we had to explain how it was possible to see ISS, and actually explain what ISS was to start with!! I had a timing sheet from the NASA site and binoculars, which convinced them. They asked if we were on our way home, to which we replied 'yes', and they let us go : ) -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Fetter [mailto:kevin_fetter@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 04, 2002 15:58 To: SeeSat-L@satobs.org Subject: Re: ISS transits the moon from Houston Paul Maley Wrote At 10h16m a police unit, who noticed the equipment set up under a lighted area, stopped me and proceeded to ask for identification and whether we had permission to use a telescope on federal property. I guess you have to make sure next time, I am glad they didn't arrest you. Seeing how close it's to sept 11, really got to watch what you do. Did you show your id for jpl, so to help to say, your no threat. What did the police officer think about the transit. I am glad you saw the iss go across the moon.
