Starshine 3 will be ejected by a new Lightband system built by Planetary Systems
Corporation. This spring activated system gives a rotation movement while
ejecting.Spinning rate should be about 5 degrees per second. It will be the
first test on this mission. If it works, it could replace existing systems used
    for small paylaods.

For the altitudes, the three DoD sponsored paylaods will be released at 500 sta.
miles (800 km) and Starshine 3 at 300 sta. miles (500 km).
