Here are (my best identifications of) eight flaring geosats that I was able to see last night (September 26 UTC) with my handheld 10x50 binoculars: 19772 89-006A Intelsat 505 24713 97-002A GE 2 26038 99-071A Galaxy XI 26608 00-072A Panamsat 1R 26624 00-076A Anik F1 26724 01-012A XM-2 26761 01-018A XM-1 One more that was too close to call: either Intelsat 706 (23571, 95-023A) or Intelsat 901 (26824, 01-024A) or Inmarsat 3-F4 (24819, 97-027A) Mike McCants was observing with his telescope, so I saw several more that way, including a few of them with both binoculars and telescope. Perhaps the most fun in the telescope is the group of six in a row (not all six at once) -- DBS 2 (23192, 94-047A, a.k.a. DirecTV 2), DBS 3 (23598, 95-029A, a.k.a. DirecTV 3), AMSC 1 (23553, 95-019A), GE 4 (25954, 99-060A), DirecTV 1-R (25937, 99-056A), and 90009. Observing site was 30.315N, 97.866W, 280m.
