Chances of seeing a re-entry -- comments?

I'm interested in (constructive!) feedback on an short article 
regarding the chances of seeing a random (i.e., uncontrolled) 
re-entry.  (I sent the original to the Meteorobs mailing list 
after the New York re-entry the other morning.)  I especially 
would like to know the missing statistics (e.g., Earth's
