Bjoern Gimle has observed three objects from yesterday's launch: http://www2.satellite.eu.org/sat/seesat/Sep-2001/0118.html The two magnitude 5 objects about 6 s apart must be the payload dispenser and one of the payloads; and the magnitude 3 object leading them by about 2 min must be the Centaur. This resolves my concern that the Centaur may have remained in the elliptical transfer orbit. Quite an accelerated deployment process relative earlier NOSS. It will be interesting to see how they proceed from here. Pierre Neirinck reports observing all three objects on the following pass (2001 Sep 09 23:11 UTC), and he obtained a few points.
