Hi All, Kudos to Ted Molczan and those who have been supplying him with Milstar 3 observations recently. I used the following TLE for my predicted track: Milstar 3 15.0 4.5 4.5 3.5 v 1 25724U 99023A 00250.11967593 .00000066 00000-0 83536-3 0 04 2 25724 28.2074 185.1841 2130414 118.4010 264.7277 9.37406692 04 Here are my measured (8 x 56 binocs) positions as seen from Newport Coast, CA (33.6028N, 117.8263W, 200m): 7 September 2000, UTC times, J2000 (FK5) positions: 5:04:28.75 16h 36.39m -2d 15.4m 5:04:50.2 16h 50.80m -3d 07.8m 5:05:04.5 17h 01.39m -3d 48.2m 5:05:13.9 17h 08.47m -4d 15.7m 5:05:35.8 17h 26.21m -5d 26.2m 5:05:40.45 17h 30.00m -5d 41.6m 5:05:44.1 17h 33.29m -5d 55.0m 5:05:47.15 17h 35.73m -6d 05.0m The last position is the most accurate due to a very close appulse with 6.62-mag HP #086097. Basically, the satellite was exactly on-track, and came about 0.2 seconds earlier than predicted. --Rob ----------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe from SeeSat-L by sending a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@lists.satellite.eu.org http://www2.satellite.eu.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
