In response to Mike Bevan's report of not seeing Lacrosse 2: http://www2.satellite.eu.org/seesat/Sep-2000/0059.html Lacrosse 2 was observed by another observer on 04 Sep, at 22:09 UTC, presumably the approximate time of your attempt. It spent more time than usual in the penumbra, so if you happened to observe between about 22:08:53 UTC and 22:09:21 UTC, it might have been much fainter than expected. I am not aware of any sighting reports since then, nor am I aware of any other no-show reports. It should have been easy to see on 09 Sep, at your 21:28 UTC pass, and you were looking well outside the penumbra. I will take a look tonight.
