    Thanks, Ed,

your new (old) observations changed the pole (to 12:06, +76),
but reduced the standard deviation, and since the surface cone
angle increased to about 72 degrees, the conclusions are almost unchanged.

The model also explains(?) your non-obs On Aug.30: you should have
seen flashes around 01:29, but on the next orbit they would be just
over the W horizon. Unfortunately this seems to be the case
    yesterday and tonight as well.
I include below the RA/dec (hh.dd dd.d) of some flash locations for
    2000-09-03.

There is a good chance for observers further N, e.g. for Don Gardner
at lat +39.2, long -76.8 there should be a long series of flashes
on the early pass ( beginning near the Moon at 00:45, ending 00:52 UT
    on Sep.03 and 00:40 Sep.04) and a few 1-power flashes around 02:37 UT on
    Sep.03.

Skymap users, edit the "Or3/" lines into the deepsky.txt file,
others plot the RA/Dec on a map, and connect the dots.
