Hi

I just suscribed to this list and I would like to introduce myself and
ask a few questions. I am fourty something and I just begun looking
up... I'd never realized there was so much to see above! I am new to
satellite observation; also english is not my first language so please
excuse me if I use wrong terms sometimes.

I live in south western Quebec at 45.8372°N, 73.9167°W. After many
unsuccessfull tries, I was finally able to determine my coordinates with
the help of a topographic map and since then, Iridium flares, which I
find sometimes septacular, are right on time and at the right place in
the sky.

About Iridium flares, I understand how they work but why do some of
them flare onces and some others flare 5 to 10 times in a row before
they disapear?

About MIR, I would be very sad if the RSA would crash it like they said
they would as it is the nicest thing to watch go by up there; why is it
so much brighter then the ISS? Also, what order of magnitude can be
expected from the ISS as construction progresses over the next few
years?

Thanks
