I have posted the above person a copy of the sept 16 press release about
this project Deep Space 1, or DS1 for short. the web page is:-

Its testing ion propulsion. I doubt whether the test goes long enough to
get an extra 4.5 km/second out of the thruster, but thats the sort of
potential available from current ion engines over multi-year missions
