Observed one of the Iridium Dummy Masses last evening (29 Sept;
19:41 EDT, 23:41 UTC; NORAD 24930; 97048F).
It was 2 minutes earlier than predicted and fairly bright - about a
0 Mag (as bright as Vega). It was also moving very quickly
across the sky - from Deneb to Altair in about 10 seconds.
The OIG predicts an October 6th decay. It should be interesting
to watch until then.
