Observations 12 Sept. 1997    (Fri. Eve, 13 Sept UT)

03:02:38  UT      First observed bright flash from Superbird A
                  (#20040). Flashing had already begun when I 
                  started observing. Using 7x50 binoculars, bright
                  flashes seen at the following subsequent times:
                    03:02:38          03:03:59
                    03:02:49          03:04:22
                    03:03:01          03:04:46
                    03:03:13          03:05:09
                    03:03:36          03:05:32

03:14:31          Cosmos 1220 (#12054), appulse with Beta Pegasi.
                  Mag 2 (4.4 predicted from standard mag).

03:24:53          Cosmos 2219 rocket (#22220), appulse w/Deneb.
                  Tumbling, mag 3 to invisible. 3 periods in 113
                  secs, = 37.7 secs.

03:45:22          Lacrosse 2, appulse with Omicron Peg. Mag 2/2.5.

03:52:12          Navistr 2-1 R1 (#20303). Appulse w/Epsilon Peg.
                  Mag 3.5  (4.2 predicted).
