Alan Thomson's idea of settin up a grand archive of TLE's is very well
worth to impliment.

There are ofcourse already some datafiles for the last years; p.e Ted
Molczan's files; the ELyymmdd.z files ect.

Pierre Neirinck does have a huge amount of old printed TLE's.
A few years ago the Belgian Working Group Satellites visited him in
Malo-les-Bains. His house is filled with huge heaps of TLE's; even
the staircase is half covered.
If the printing quality allows perhaps these can be scanned; so avoiding
typing them in.

As to Vladimir Agopovs second question:
I do have an almost complete dBase IV datafile with general info about
the sats. For the first 20 Noradnumbers an example follows:

Dutch to English:
naam = name; lancering = launch; leeftijd = lifetime; terugkeer = decay
raket = rocket; dg = day; mnd = month; jr = year

+++++++++++

If this can be of any help I can make the whole datafile available.
Using Dbase IV substitute option I can "translate" all dutch words to
english.
As mentioned in an earlier message I'm also working to inclued part of
Tristan Cools satdatafile into my file (launchsite, rockettype).

As to what TLE's to inclued: as much as possible, storage capacity
permitting.
