Just observed these objects using elsets provided by
Mike McCants (thanks Mike).

1 24297U 96051A 96248.51198145 -.00000047 00000-0 00000+0 0 24
2 24297 71.0070 165.3465 0002273 37.3905 322.7356 14.12571899 29
1 24298U 96051B 96248.58277041 -.00000047 00000-0 00000+0 0 14
2 24298 71.0034 165.2062 0006611 81.8328 278.6564 14.13438842 37

Both objects were very close (2 second time separation). The lead
object was perhaps 5th magnitude with the trailing object 1-2 magnitudes
fainter. Track and time were close for the 24297 object.

24298 was supposed to be 40 seconds earlier but was not seen unless it
was one of the two seen together.

Observed at 4:09:10 UT 5 sep 96 at about 13 degrees elevation. Both
objects were steady but variations in the trailing object might have
been missed due to faintness.
