Last night I observed what seems to have been
    GStar 2 (86-026A, 16649) flashing very brightly
with a period of about 78.5 seconds. The time
was about 3:36 to 3:52 UTC. At that time GStar 2
was in the vicinity of RA 22:00, Dec -17.7. By
the end of the observation it was getting too
faint for me to see it any longer.

Kevin reported GStar 2 flashing faintly with a
    short period in January 2009.

    I had been looking for TDF 2 (90-063A, 20705)
    and/or Cosmos 2282 (94-038A, 23168), both of
which were nearby, but I don't think that it was
    either of those.

PPAS report once/if its identity is confirmed.

More to come about last night, if I don't run out
    of time.
