Hi all Ive just seen the most spectacular space event I ever seen !!! I was set up on DMSP 18 and shortly before time started getting a series of rings that got brighter and brighter and then the rocket came into view looking like a conical brilliant light with DMSP F18 to the side of it. I tried to follow it across the sky and got a few good glimses of it- will have to check the video tomorrow- wish I could have been outside to see it - it must have been BRILLIANT!!! When the concentric rings started coming into view it was somewhat scary as I had no idea what it was- they must have been at least 3-4 degrees across. By the time the satellites got to the northern part of the sky the cone had disappeared leaving two very bright satellites. Heck - I wish I had used a wider angle lens - Ive never seen anything so beautiful- Cheers Greg ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
