Morning Just read with great interest Paul Maleys contribution about having seen part of the STEREO launch. From what I understand of the launch and events he could not have possibly seen anything related to the STEREO launch. I base this on his geographical location ~30N and 78W so all he might have seen would be the ascent stage, but then the time of observatio -0154UT does not fit the sequence of events at all. By the time the satellites appeared above my horizon it was already 01h21mUT- nearly half an hour earlier than Pauls observation. By then the stage sequencing had been completed and the objects well into the southern hemisphere and heading rapidly outwards. Maybe Im wrong, in which case apologies, but I just dont see at the moment how Pauls sighting could be STEREO related.
