17' off-track !? Predicted almost dead-on the +3.58m star next to iota UMa, but I estimated 1/9 their distance. Used my 7*30 "headset". 27699 03 009B 5918 G 20051003193615530 17 25 0858838+475590 47 S I looked for USA 3 soon after, and IGS 1A near beta UMa. Within 7 degrees I saw only alpha, and the star 3 degrees below right, but I saw briefly a "bright star" at the lower left in my FOV, where there is none. And I didn't time it.
