I have found a new bright unknown geosync satellite with the 12mm lens just south of the ASTRA 2A/2B/2D cluster at +28.2 deg E. It was visible from 2003 Oct 17 21:55 (mag 8) until 22:05 (mag 7) moving northwards. The ASTRA 2 cluster brightened to mag 6 22:03 UTC. I found it again Oct 18 with the 75mm lens. elset from observations 2003 Oct 17 and 18: UNK031017 3.2 1 90018U 03790A 03291.00000000 .00000000 00000-0 00000+0 0 00 2 90018 2.5918 30.6463 0003000 178.9065 204.6516 1.00265435 00 1 03 10 17 21 55 08.0 1 38.48 -07.936 2000 mag 7.8 1 03 10 17 22 01 14.5 1 44.68 -07.881 2000 7.4 1 03 10 17 22 04 59.8 1 48.55 -07.802 2000 6.8 1 03 10 18 20 43 45.4 0 30.980 -08.7366 2000 10.8 1 03 10 18 20 53 33.6 0 40.804 -08.6244 2000 9.7 1 03 10 18 21 04 04.2 0 51.331 -08.5078 2000 8.5 1 03 10 18 21 15 26.1 1 02.686 -08.3734 2000 7.3 1 03 10 18 21 25 15.5 1 12.537 -08.2642 2000 8.0 1 03 10 18 21 34 31.6 1 21.821 -08.1522 2000 8.6 1 03 10 18 21 35 35.0 1 22.871 -08.1375 2000 7.4 1 03 10 18 21 45 00.0 1 32.301 -08.0279 2000 8.9 1 03 10 18 21 55 00.4 1 42.318 -07.9041 2000 7.9 1 03 10 18 22 05 54.6 1 53.227 -07.7723 2000 7.2 1 03 10 18 22 18 19.7 2 05.644 -07.6261 2000 7.3 1 03 10 18 22 23 48.7 2 11.145 -07.5586 2000 8.0 1 03 10 18 22 25 43.2 2 13.051 -07.5352 2000 8.3 Rainer Rainer Kracht Elmshorn, Germany Station 5005 53.7695N 9.6626E 9m Potsdam Datum 53.7679N 9.6614E 47m WGS84 R.Kracht@t-online.de ----------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from SeeSat-L, send a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@satobs.org List archived at http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
