    Let me speak on this subject, on which I have much experience and
    knowledge.
    
    DO NOT buy a department-store telescope.  DO NOT buy a telescope that has
    its power as the main point as to why you should buy it.  AND NEVER buy a
    telescope that costs less than $100 US, if not $150.
    
    Highly recommend that you buy from one of the reputable telescope-makers,
    such as:
    
    www.meade.com
    www.orion.com
    www.celestron.com
