    I found a Windows utility that replace the Windows System Tray clock. Just
    359 kB unzipped. It can be configured to display the day-of-year number -but
    no fraction- and lots of other items.
    
    "TClockEx is Freeware.  You may happily (or unhappily if you prefer) use
    this software on any number of computers for as long as you like, and you

    Another utility, wrldtime.zip, is 4.45 MB, has very detailed Time Zone maps
    and loads of features, but no day number as far as I have seen.
    
    OTOH I could easily write one that displays DDD.ddddddd, and allows some
    additions/subtractions. MAny options and configurability might make it into
    a large project.
