I have to concur with Tony's suspicions here. I observed this object a few times earlier this summer with my 14.5-inch telescope. I noted that there were a few "hitches" in the flash pattern, but unfortunately today my notes are at home, and I'd rather not rely on memory for the facts. I was going to go after it at our astronomy club's annual public star party last Saturday night, when it happened to be passing close to M31, but by the time the satellite was due, my entire telescope was dripping with dew. Does anyone know any particulars on this object? Is it one of the "fat" Centaurs? What was its payload? I've really enjoyed watching it and showing it off to my club buddies ever since Mike McCants and Ed Cannon brought it to my attention one very chilly night at Canyon of the Eagles...
