We just looked for the newly-launched 99-058 objects (NORAD 25943-25948)
and spotted three of them (with 7x50 and 10x50 binoculars) below Polaris
(altitude 33, azimuteh 358) at approximately 1999 Oct 18 23:49.3 UTC.
The first 2 objects were very close (1/4 degree?) and the third followed
by perhaps 1 degree, all objects being approximately 6 - 6-1/2 magnitude.
Using the OIG elements below ...

our best guess is that we saw 25948 (99-058F), 25945 (99-058C) and
25943 (99-058A), in that order, a few seconds early, but since we saw
only about half of the expected number of objects, we're not really sure.
Maybe later elements (or other people's better observations) will clarify
the situation.
Clear and dark skies!
