What did I see?

Hi everybody!
While observing geostationary satellites with my telescope, I saw on
several
occasions other satellites as well. These observations were all very
similar:
- the satellites crossed the field of view very precisely in north/south or
south/north
  direction respectively
- all these observation were around local midnight and close to the
meridian
- the angular speed of these satellites was about twice as high as the
speed
  of the geostationaries/stars
- the satellites had about the same brightness as the geostationaries
(12m-13m)

I conclude that these sats are quite far out and have a high inclination.
Since
I observed this several times, I assume that there are a least several of
them
in similar orbits. Could they be ascending/descending Molniyas?
Unfortunately, I didn't take proper logs of my observations (shame on me!).

Any guess?
