I agree it is difficult to extrapolate the direction to the correct =
azimuths.
I am advocating using the Dir value of Quicksat (or 'little hand' of a
clock) ie. 0 for straight up, 90 for horizontally to the right...
I find that easy to estimate to about +/- 5 degrees when observing at
1x or using hand-held binoculars (in the direction you are standing/ =
sitting)

This is very easy to correlate to a Quicksat listing, or SkyMap =
stereographic plot.
