Also from daytime Venus observing: you had better have a pretty good idea
about just where in the sky the flare will appear. It would be appropriate
to mark that spot by putting it at the top of a tree, or between a couple
of tall buildings. Venus can be as plainly visible as the nose on your
face and be invisible to the casual observer who does not know it is there.
