On Friday-night Oct. 17 at 18:05 UTC there was an extremely bright pass of Mir.
In the south-west at an elevation of 50 deg. the max. magnitude was about -4.

On Saturday Oct. 18 Iridium 18 (97-034 C) showed a mag 0 flare, as had been
predicted by Rob Matson's computer program.

in the north-west.

was 68 deg. It was flashing with a period of 1.9 sec. mag +5 -> inv.
