Atlantis appeared at about 19:53:30 EDT (23:53:50 UTC) in the WSW at about
20 deg. above the horizon. By the time it passed near gamma and beta Draco
it was easily a -2 Mag - much brighter than nearby Vega. After it appeared
to occult gamma Cas. it dimmed then dissappeared into the earth's shadow.
Mir appeared at 19:59:30 EDT at 20 deg. above the horizon in the WSW.
It was somewhat dimmer than Atlantis - reaching about a -1 to -1.5 as
it passed between gamma and beta Draco. Mir dimmed after passing near
epsilon Cas.
Cheers.
