Thanks to a prediction by Rob Matson, I observed
a spectacular flare by Iridium 13. This despite marine
layer clouds which were so thick that Jupiter and Venus
were completely invisible. It must have been a whopper!
The observation was at 1997-10-02 02:41 UTC (plus or
minus 1 minute due to wristwatch accuracy), at approx
az 150, el 50, from Anaheim, California, USA
(33.809 N, 117.911 W).
Thanks again Rob!
