    This video footage is a time-lapse taken from Brisbane, Australia of the
    MSL booster stage venting shortly after separation.

    Notice a few satellites go past too.
    
    As far as I know, no-one else other than three observers in Brisbane
    witnessed/recorded this.
    
    I was at the DSN in Tidbinbilla Canberra, and although the two dishes
    successfully tracked MSL, it was completely clouded out at the best
    observation time.
    
    Hopefully we should be able to reduce these observations.  Will post more
    details as I have them.
