All the news buzz over the CA mystery launch prompted me to contact list members. Can anyone on the list give me some guidance on how I might estimate the launch site origin? Or based upon the launch date, location and time what orbit might be achieved for a sat launched at those coordinates? Could it achieve geosynchronous orbit or what orbits could it achieve. 1. Do any of the members have plans to search for the potential satellite that could have been launched from this craft?2. What software is available to calculate possible launch orbit or launch origin?3. Can anywhere here speculate if based on the video below it is more likely a rocket than a plane? At:46 you see what reasonable people could conclude is a rocket stage separation. See youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2qKMchcgzk [youtube.com] Thanks.
