Russia's Granat Strays To Earthbound Route

A large Russian astronomy satellite's orbit is gradually deteriorating and
the spacecraft is expected to enter the Earth's atmosphere sometime next
summer. Russian authorities expect the 4,000-kilogram Granat, launched in
December 1989, to crash into the Pacific Ocean. Granat was originally
expected to function for just two years.
