Referring to several earlier messages on this subjects, I can now state
without the shadow of a doubt that the TLEs dissiminated for the
geostationary satellite ASTRA 1F are wrong. The longitude resulting from
them is at least 6 degrees too far east.

The object traced as ASTRA 1F either is something else or, more likely,
does not exist at all. =

I am told but cannot verify it myself that the position resulting for
another geosat, ITALSAT 2, is wrong by 3 degrees.

In conclusion, extreme caution is recommended as far as the TLEs for
geosynchronous satellites in this part of the Clarke belt is concerned.
