Using Rob's Iridflar program I saw my first flare! I watched Iridium 17
flare, just as calculated. It was right on time at 17:46 (PST) 1:46
(UT), about 3 degrees west of Jupiter. I'd say it was about a -1 mag
flare, or perhaps a bit less. I didn't have a stop watch, but would
calculate the flare lasting about 4-6 seconds. Thanks Rob - what a
great program.
