I don’t even know the name of the number I was changing, but I bet it is the ascending node, which is just about the only number in
an elset I understand without direction, except date, and revolutions per day..

It's the method I usually use.

A drawback is that it only compensates for time.

Your obs field is far from perigee , so if apogeehas been increased (or decreased!) the off-zenithal passes might be outside your
FOV.

If the TLE is old, and the error is mainly because of drag, usually change the Bstar (35722-3) instead.

 

But here it should be a maneuvre, and you might simulate it partly by changing MM

A LARGE KH MM change can be down to -0.13 or so, which would cover up to TWO orbits ! That would allow you to get a feeling of
possible track offsets.

EQUIPMENT-
Orion ST80 with Mogg 0.6 FR and a Mintron integrating camera. ST80 is
piggybacked on a 12" LX200 which does the slewing and tracking. Focal
Reducer is at max distance from detector and still capable of focus.

NOTES-

PLANAR SEARCH FOR USA 129..
I did *MOST* of a search for USA 129 and did not find it. Everything seen was matched.. (I did catch USA 179r by "accident".. Only
the second time I have caught a classified object accidently.. Yeah!")

First Planar Search I have attempted.. Using the current Classified elset, I edited this number.. 127.2344 in 10.0 increments.. I
covered roughly that number plus 180 to minus 60.. 2/3's of the search..

If this method is correct, then it is not in the part I covered ( 5x7 deg FOV to mag 8) and someone should look to the parts I
didn't cover i.e. "Late" vs. the current elset.. If this isn't correct, well..
