Used with NIKON ED AF NIKKOR 80-200mm f/2.8 telephoto lens

NOTES:

(1) First lot of results from my survey of the CLARKE belt visible
from my location, starting at about 15 degrees elevation in
the east and working westward to about elevation 25. Exposures
in the range 60 to 120 seconds using CCD camera in 1 bin mode.
Pixel scale is 7.60 arc sec/pixel and going to to about mag +13.
(2) Two unknowns found.
99990 - this unknown lies between APSTAR 2R and CTDRS -for my
location this is azimuth 070.8, elevation 17.8 degrees.
I do not think it is PAN. It showed no obvious trailing
in the exposure so is probably a true geostationary,
either unknown or not in my current database compiled
14 May 2012.
99991 - this unknown lies between HELLAS SAT 2 and TURKSAT 3A.
This might be PAN - its quite bright but its not near
any obvious candidate for sitting close to as in the
past. The image was not trailed in any of the 90 sec
exposures so its not obviously drifting.
(3) When a classified satellite is spotted I will measure all the
images in which the satellite appears. For non-classified
objects I will only report one position per satellite.
(4) I still have a LOT to do - done about 22 of the 99 fields
taken!! I will report daily as I slowly move westward.
(5) Ive done enough for today - my bum is numb!
