I see no reason to distrust either data set. Russell's data could be 0.5 s late, or Kevin's could be 0.7 s early, or both may be correct and the orbit has changed in a way that only further observations will make clear. Russell's data is consistent over the two consecutive passes he observed. Other observations he made last night appear to be accurately timed. Kevin made a video of another object (09023A) on May 19 UTC, from which I extracted the following point that is in close agreement with other observations. 34903 09 023A 1775 G 20090519031800718 36 25 1927649+285486 37 S+078 10 For now, I offer the above elements, based on the arc ending with Russell's data, with the caveat that the object could be a few seconds early tonight, assuming that it was 0.7 s early, several hours later when Kevin made his video. 99750A 2610 X 37605 km 1 90004U 99750A 09142.98361700 .00000000 00000-0 00000-0 0 06 2 90004 64.4902 223.4129 6606420 268.2120 21.1060 2.01406043 08 Arc 20090414.26-0523.06 WRMS resid 0.007 totl 0.005 xtrk 04539A 2445 X 37908 km 1 90020U 04539A 09142.77613856 .00000000 00000-0 00000-0 0 04 2 90020 64.3999 160.2885 6677534 249.4350 30.7847 2.00618880 00 Arc 20090418.95-0522.94 WRMS resid 0.011 totl 0.005 xtrk 05864A 2355 X 38002 km 1 90046U 05864A 09142.78026053 .00000000 00000-0 00000-0 0 02 2 90046 63.4477 135.4074 6711385 270.5826 19.1410 2.00596332 03 Arc 20090511.96-0522.9 WRMS resid 0.004 totl 0.003 xtrk 06667A 212 X 28904 km 1 90061U 06667A 09142.76817198 .00006907 00000-0 54059-3 0 05 2 90061 27.5042 102.4472 6852347 316.0858 6.4671 2.86667404 01 Arc 20090418.97-0522.95 WRMS resid 0.004 totl 0.002 xtrk 08628A 2441 X 37922 km 1 90081U 08628A 09142.95304272 .00000000 00000-0 00000-0 0 03 2 90081 62.6876 175.4613 6679604 277.0608 16.9796 2.00564901 05 Arc 20090419.1-0523.02 WRMS resid 0.005 totl 0.004 xtrk 08731A 2479 X 37877 km 1 90082U 08731A 09142.57065422 .00000000 00000-0 00000-0 0 08 2 90082 64.2042 61.8537 6664752 258.5916 25.2324 2.00602073 09 Arc 20090511.93-0522.93 WRMS resid 0.006 totl 0.005 xtrk Ted Molczan ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
