I watched the whole thing with the throngs of folks here at the Lunar and Planetary Lab in Tucson. It was a very enthusiastic crowd filled with folks of all ages and lots of activities besides just watching the NASA feed on the big screens around the building. At every major event there were cheers echoing those seen on TV and we were treated to the images coming out of the Science Operation Center via NASA TV though they came only from a few miles away. It was great once again to see a landscape that has never been seen before. It was a pleasure to see everything go so perfectly. Hearing the callout of the altitude as the vehicle descended and trying to detect the slowing of the descent rate and then the callout of landing. Lots of fun! Jim.
